I have obtained and *kept* 11 clients.

I have been a member since 2007 and most of my new customers have come through ProZ.com.

Once I discovered ProZ.com, I immediately became a member and started to reply to job offers. Now, thanks to ProZ.com I have many good clients all over the world.Thanks to ProZ.com my dream of becoming a full-time freelance translator has come true, together with a good income. Becoming a member of ProZ.com was one of the wisest moves I made upon starting to work freelance. I got numerous good clients through the site and never have a shortage of work as a result!

I found ProZ.com quite useful initially (the term search, KudoZ, the glossaries, etc.), but it really came into its own when I became a paying member. Now, nearly all of my jobs come through my ProZ.com profile, and through repeat requests from regular clients, and I can't remember the last time I actually bid for a job.

The Blue Board is extremely useful for filtering out undesirable clients (bad/slow payers) - a feature that is only available to full members, but it is worth its weight in gold.

In 2023, I began shutting down my freelance translator work. At 77, I am embarking on new challenges, but always related to the linguistic skills that ProZ helped me to hone.

I began translating professionally in 1992 and I was one of the first adherents to ProZ.com. I have watched it grow and expand, and it has been a great help to me, especially in the early years in garnering clients that I worked with for nearly two decades in some cases. The KudoZ terminology tools were essential in helping me build my own glossaries for the types of jobs I was involved in. I recall the names of colleagues that I never had the chance to meet in person but with whom I interacted on the KudoZ platform. It has been a truly rewarding experience.

I am convinced that without ProZ.com, I would never have made the contacts I need to work as a full time professional translator.
